Translation and Interpreting Services in Vallejo

Philippine and Mexican civil records for USCIS, and interpreters for the Solano Justice Building, Kaiser Vallejo and Sutter Solano.

Vallejo residents and employers get certified translation from Prism Language Solutions for documents sent from any address in the city, and interpreters for court, medical and immigration work from a nationwide network of human linguists, with someone from the North Bay or Sacramento area sent for in-person jobs. One Vallejo resident in eight speaks Tagalog at home, and one in five speaks Spanish. Prism operates from 100 Church Street in New York, its only office, and returns a fixed written quote within 60 minutes in business hours.

Vallejo’s two big languages account for almost the whole of its non-English speech. The Census Bureau’s American Community Survey for 2020-2024 puts Spanish at 19.9 percent of residents aged five and over and Tagalog, including Filipino, at 13.1 percent, about 15,400 people. Vietnamese and Chinese are each under 1 percent. For planning purposes that means two deep benches of linguists and a phone or video connection for everything else.

The city of 126,090 grew around the Mare Island Naval Shipyard, which the Navy decommissioned in 1996 after 142 years. Its buildings now house Touro University California among other tenants, and the waterfront still hosts Cal Poly Maritime Academy, so a share of the work here is academic and medical rather than purely immigration.

Tagalog Translation and Interpreters in Vallejo

A Philippine civil record often needs less translation than people expect. Birth, marriage and death certificates issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority, successor since 2013 to the National Statistics Office, carry English headings and mostly English entries, and a certificate written entirely in English needs no translation for USCIS. The work is in what surrounds it: handwritten remarks, annotations for a late registration or a court-ordered correction, church records, and affidavits drafted in Tagalog.

Name order is the other snag. The middle name on a Philippine record is normally the mother’s maiden surname, and US systems often misread it as a second given name. We render the name exactly as registered and flag any earlier US record that split it differently. Interpreting requests are a different matter: tell us the province, because the right booking may be an Ilocano, Cebuano or Pampangan speaker rather than a Tagalog interpreter. More on Tagalog translation.

Court Interpreters at the Solano Justice Building on Tuolumne Street

The Superior Court of Solano County keeps one courthouse in Vallejo, the Solano Justice Building at 321 Tuolumne Street, and three buildings in Fairfield: the Hall of Justice and the Law and Justice Center on Union Avenue and the Old Solano Courthouse on Texas Street. A Vallejo case can be heard in either city, so the notice decides where the interpreter goes.

The court offers interpreters across its case types, from criminal and traffic to family law, guardianship, unlawful detainer and small claims, and asks family law and civil parties to file its own request form, 333-INT. Tagalog is one of California’s twelve fully certified court interpreting languages, as is Spanish. Depositions, attorney meetings and mediation are arranged privately; we book a certified Spanish interpreter or Tagalog interpreter for those. See court interpreting.

USCIS Translation for Vallejo Applicants at the Sacramento Field Office

Vallejo is closer to San Francisco than to Sacramento, but USCIS assigns its ZIP codes, 94589, 94590 and 94591, to the Sacramento Field Office at 650 Capitol Mall. Applicants who assume a San Francisco interview get a surprise in the mail. Plan the travel, and have every translation finished before the appointment letter arrives.

Each foreign document needs a full English translation under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), with the translator certifying competence and accuracy. Our certificate goes with every page, and the receiving office decides whether the evidence is sufficient. Most Vallejo files combine Philippine and Mexican records; see USCIS translation and marriage certificate translation.

Medical Interpreters at Kaiser Vallejo and Sutter Solano

Kaiser Permanente’s Vallejo hospital on Sereno Drive is licensed for 253 beds and houses the Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center, whose 48 inpatient rehabilitation beds take Kaiser members from across Northern California. Sutter Solano Medical Center, at 300 Hospital Drive, is a 106-bed acute care hospital. Rehabilitation brings patients from well outside Vallejo, so the language need on a given ward is hard to predict.

Hospitals owe patients a qualified interpreter under 45 CFR 92.201. Rehabilitation is where an outside interpreter earns the fee: weeks of therapy sessions, family training before discharge, and a stroke or spinal injury patient who needs the same interpreter each time. We schedule a consistent linguist on site or by video. See medical interpreting and medical records translation.

Spanish Translation in Vallejo

One in five Vallejo residents speaks Spanish at home, and the documents follow the usual Mexican and Central American pattern: actas de nacimiento and matrimonio for USCIS, school records, police reports, and settlement papers from employment claims. Spanish translation of a short certificate starts from around $24.95 per page as a guide price, and the written quote is the price.

Many older actas were typed or handwritten into registry books; we transcribe what is legible, mark what is not, and keep every seal and marginal note. For anything with a court date, call +1 (833) 282 8883.

Diploma Translation for Touro University and Cal Poly Maritime

Touro University California occupies 23 buildings of the former naval base on Mare Island and enrolls about 1,400 students in graduate programs in osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, physician assistant studies and public health. Cal Poly Maritime Academy, absorbed into Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on July 1, 2025, trains cadets for the merchant marine. Solano Community College opened its Vallejo campus in 2018.

The requests this produces come from health professions applicants with foreign schooling: a pharmacy degree from Manila or a medical transcript from Mexico, needed in English for an admissions file or a licensing board. We translate the diploma and academic transcript as a matched pair. Upload them through the quote form.

Ready to start? Send the document or the booking details through the quote form, call +1 (833) 282 8883, or email info@prismlinguistics.com. You get a fixed written price within 60 minutes during business hours.

Questions we get asked

Does a Philippine PSA birth certificate need translating for USCIS?
Not if every entry is in English. Translation is needed for any Tagalog or other local-language content, such as handwritten remarks, annotations or supporting affidavits, and each translated page carries our signed certificate.
Why is my Vallejo green card interview in Sacramento?
USCIS assigns the Vallejo ZIP codes 94589, 94590 and 94591 to the Sacramento Field Office at 650 Capitol Mall, not to San Francisco.
Where is the courthouse in Vallejo?
The Solano Justice Building at 321 Tuolumne Street. Solano County also hears cases in three Fairfield buildings, so check the notice for the location.
Can I get the same interpreter for every rehabilitation session?
Usually, yes. Give us the full therapy schedule when booking and we assign one linguist for the series, with a named backup.
