Documents We Translate and Certify

One page per document type: where it comes from, what usually goes wrong in translation, who asks for it, and the guide price.

Prism Language Solutions translates and certifies the official documents that US agencies, courts, universities and employers ask for: civil records for USCIS, academic records for admissions and licensing, identity documents, police and court records, medical and financial records. Each translation is complete, laid out to match the original, and delivered with a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy. Short certificates are usually back within 24 hours.

Choose the document below. If yours is not listed, send it anyway: the certificate is the same and the pricing works the same way. For the general rules of certified translation, and the difference between certified and notarized, see certified translation.

Civil status records

The documents behind most family-based immigration filings, passport applications and name changes. The recurring problems are registries that have changed jurisdiction, handwritten entries, and names spelled differently on the certificate and the passport.

Academic records

For university admission, WES and ECE credential evaluation, state licensing boards and employers. Grading scales and degree names are translated as they stand, with a translator's note where the system needs explaining.

Identity and police records

Legal, medical and financial records

Document translation cost

Short certificates are priced per page, from around $24.95 as a US market guide, including the signed certificate and PDF delivery. Multi-page transcripts, judgments and medical records are priced per word. Notarization, hard copies and rush delivery are itemized separately. Full ranges are on the pricing page; the written quote fixes the figure.

Questions we get asked

Do you need the original document?
No. A clear scan or a phone photo of every page, front and back, is enough. The translation is certified against the copy you send and a copy is attached to it. If a recipient later wants to see the original, they compare it to the same copy.
Can one certificate cover several documents?
Each document gets its own certificate so it can be filed separately. If you send a birth certificate and a marriage certificate together, you receive two certified translations, and the per-page pricing is the same as ordering them apart.
What if part of the document is illegible?
The translator marks the illegible passage as such in the translation rather than guessing, and we tell you before delivery so you can look for a better copy. USCIS and courts accept an honest illegibility note; they do not accept invented text.
