McKinney residents and law firms order certified translation from Prism Language Solutions by email and book interpreters from its nationwide network for in-person, phone and video work, including hearings at the Collin County Courthouse and appointments at the three McKinney hospitals. Work is managed from New York, the company’s sole office, and in-person jobs go to a linguist living in or near Collin County. Send the job through the quote form for a fixed written price within 60 minutes of business hours.
Being the county seat shapes McKinney’s interpreting work more than its own population does. Every felony, divorce and large civil suit filed anywhere in Collin County, from Plano and Frisco to Wylie and Celina, is heard in McKinney. So a large share of the interpreters we send to the city are there for people who live somewhere else in the county. The residents themselves are a newer mix. McKinney had 195,308 people in the 2020 census, and 22.6 percent were born outside the country in the 2024 survey. The largest single birthplace is India, with about 10,700 residents, a quarter of the foreign-born; Mexico follows with 6,800, then China, Nigeria, the Philippines, Korea, Vietnam and Iran. At home, 21,525 residents aged five and over speak Spanish, and more than 17,900 speak one of the South Asian, Persian or other Asian languages the Census groups together. That second group is where a general agency finds the gaps.

Court Interpreters at the Collin County Courthouse
The courthouse at 2100 Bloomdale Road holds all 14 Collin County district courts, the 199th, 219th, 296th, 366th, 380th, 401st, 416th, 417th, 429th, 468th, 469th, 470th, 471st and 493rd, together with seven county courts at law for misdemeanors. Four justice of the peace precincts handle evictions, small claims and Class C offenses around the county.
Collin County is many times the 50,000-resident threshold in Texas Government Code 57.002, so a Spanish interpreter in any of those courtrooms must hold the Texas license, and an unlicensed interpreter in another language is allowed only after the judge finds no licensed one within 75 miles. For Telugu, Tamil or Farsi, plan for that 75-mile finding, and bring a qualified interpreter who has done court work before. We say on each quote whether the interpreter is licensed, and we book the interpreter for depositions, mediations and client meetings that the court does not staff. Details are on court interpreting. Federal cases from Collin County belong to the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas, which also sits at 7940 Preston Road in Plano.
Certified Translation for McKinney USCIS and Immigration Filings
The ZIP-code file USCIS publishes assigns all four McKinney ZIP codes to the Dallas Field Office, at 6500 Campus Circle Drive East in Irving, which is where McKinney residents are called for green card and naturalization interviews. Anyone in removal proceedings appears instead at Room 1060, 1100 Commerce Street, the Dallas Immigration Court. Each foreign-language document in either file needs a complete English translation certified by a translator who states competence in both languages, as 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) sets out. The officer decides acceptance.
The McKinney document set follows the birthplace list. Iranian birth certificates and marriage contracts in Persian, Chinese notarial certificates, Korean family relation certificates, Vietnamese household records, Brazilian certidões in Portuguese, and Mexican actas. Many Indian civil records are issued in English, but when a certificate, affidavit or school record carries Telugu, Tamil, Hindi or Gujarati text, that part needs a certified translation as well. The form-by-form checklist is on USCIS translation, and for the interview itself see USCIS interview interpreting.
Telugu, Hindi and Farsi Translation in McKinney
Book by language and script, not by country. Telugu translation, Tamil translation, Hindi translation and Gujarati translation are separate assignments, each done by a translator who reads that script natively; a Hindi interpreter covers a different need from a Telugu one. Farsi translation of Iranian records has its own trap, the Persian solar calendar, so every date is converted and the original date is kept in brackets.
Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese come next. Chinese orders start with one question, simplified or traditional script, before a Chinese translation is assigned, and for spoken work whether the family uses Mandarin or Cantonese. Korean translation is mostly family registration and education records, and Vietnamese translation mostly civil records. By volume, though, McKinney’s biggest single language is still Spanish, handled under Spanish translation.
Medical Interpreters for McKinney Hospitals
Three hospitals are inside the city: Medical City McKinney, Baylor Scott and White Medical Center McKinney, and Methodist McKinney Hospital. McKinney patients are owed free language assistance at each of them under 45 CFR 92.201, and day-to-day that usually means a phone or video line. The requests that reach an agency are the planned ones, such as a Telugu-speaking grandparent’s cardiology consult where the family wants a professional rather than a grandchild interpreting, a series of obstetric visits in Farsi, or a psychiatric intake where video is not appropriate. Records from a hospital in Hyderabad or Tehran for a new McKinney doctor go through medical translation; bookings are on medical interpreting.
Diploma Translation for the Collin Higher Education Center
Collin College opened its Collin Higher Education Center in southern McKinney in 2010, and it runs bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs there with Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas Woman’s University, UT Dallas and the University of North Texas. Applicants educated abroad need the degree certificate and every page of the transcript translated in full, with grades left as issued so the evaluator can convert them. See diploma translation and transcript translation.
McKinney employers generate the adjacent work: employment letters and experience certificates for visa petitions, covered on employment letter translation. As a pricing guide, short certificates start from around $24.95 a page and longer documents run about $0.10 to $0.25 per source word; call +1 (833) 282 8883 or use the quote form for the fixed figure.
