Prism Language Solutions arranges Sara interpreters for asylum and USCIS interviews, refugee health screenings, school meetings and court matters across the United States, mostly by video or phone and in person where possible. Sara is a cluster of related languages from southern Chad, so we match the interpreter to the speaker’s own variety, Ngambay, Sar, Mbay or another, before we confirm the booking.
The Sara languages have about 2 million native speakers, mainly in southern Chad with some in the north of the Central African Republic. Linguists still disagree about whether they are dialects of one language or a cluster of several, which tells a scheduler what matters: related, not interchangeable. Ngambay, a trade language of the south with about a million speakers, is the largest; Sar is the common language of the city of Sarh.
A request that says only Sara is half a request. It usually comes from a resettlement caseworker, a hospital scheduler or an attorney who has been given one word and nothing else. The home town is the other half, and it is usually one phone call away.- Certified translations prepared to meet USCIS requirements

Which Sara Language? Ngambay, Sar or Mbay Interpreter
Scholars group the cluster three ways: West Sara, including Ngambay and Laka; Central Sara, the Doba varieties; and East Sara, including Sar, Mbay and Ngam. Moundou and the Logone country point toward Ngambay; Sarh and Moyen-Chari toward Sar; Doba toward the central varieties. Neighboring languages share a lot, and a speaker given an interpreter from further across the cluster will follow the drift of a question and miss its detail.
If nobody in the right variety is free for your date, we offer the closest neighboring Sara language, or a relay through French or Chadian Arabic, and describe either option as the compromise it is. The attorney or clinician then decides with full information.
Sara Interpreter or a French or Chadian Arabic Interpreter
Chad governs in French and Arabic, and Chadian Arabic is a trade language across much of the country, so booking systems often default to one of them. For some working-age clients from the south, schooled in French, that is genuinely fine for routine paperwork. The question to ask is not whether the client speaks French, but what the appointment is for and which language the client wants to use for it.
A benefits appointment, a school conference or a naturalization interview may go well in French. Credible fear screenings, forensic evaluations and merits hearings are where a second language runs out, typically at the moment the account reaches what happened. For those, book Sara and hold French or Arabic in reserve.
Sara Asylum and Credible Fear Interpreter
Credible fear screenings usually run by phone or video from detention, which suits a language whose interpreters are scattered. Affirmative asylum interviews put the burden on the applicant to bring an interpreter who meets 8 CFR 208.9(g): 18 or older, fluent in English and in a language the applicant speaks fluently, and not the attorney, a witness or an agent of the applicant’s government.
Our Sara interpreters are briefed to render each answer as given, keep hesitations, and say openly when the applicant has reached for a French or Arabic word to fill a gap. Dates stated by season or year only stay that way in English. Book through USCIS interview interpreting once the notice arrives.
Sara Interpreter for Health Screenings and School Meetings
Resettlement brings a run of appointments in the first months: the arrival health exam, vaccinations, a pediatric visit, a school enrollment interview. None is dramatic, and each is where a family learns whether it will be understood. A federally funded clinic owes the patient a qualified interpreter free of charge under 45 CFR 92.201, and a district taking federal money must be able to talk with parents under Title VI at 42 U.S.C. 2000d.
Video handles nearly all of these well enough, and it is what we can staff reliably. When the visit is a psychological evaluation or bad news from a specialist, tell us, and we will try to get a Sara interpreter to the room and report back honestly on the odds. Hospitals can review our setup on medical interpreting.
Sara Court Interpreter
No Sara language has a court interpreter certification exam in any state. Qualification is done by the judge, on the record, and the variety being interpreted should be stated there too; we provide both in advance. Immigration courts arrange their own hearing interpreter, while attorneys retain us for preparation and declarations. State courts and counsel book through court interpreting.
Sara Interpreter Booking and Cost
Remote sessions through video remote interpreting or phone are the norm and the quickest to staff. Where someone can attend, the guide is the typical US market range, $45 to $95 an hour with a two-hour minimum, and the written quote you receive within 60 minutes in business hours is the price. Send the speaker’s home town, the date and the setting through the quote form, or call +1 (833) 282 8883.
Chadian civil records are in French, sometimes with Arabic, and go to French translation. Sara statements and recordings in the same case go to Sara translation.
Ready to start? Send the document or the booking details through the quote form, call +1 (833) 282 8883, or email info@prismlinguistics.com. You get a fixed written price within 60 minutes during business hours.
